Cookie Policy

At İpekyolu Uluslararası Öğrenci Derneği we use a limited number of cookies and browser storage on our website so that the site works and you can use the donation basket. This page explains which data is kept, why and for how long.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files saved in your browser by the websites you visit. Similarly, your browser’s local storage (localStorage) lets the site keep some of your preferences on your device.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies and storage

• Basket — the items you add to your donation basket are kept on your device, and a server copy linked to your visitor ID is kept so the basket follows you when you sign in. It is cleared once the donation is completed.
• Favourites — items you mark with the heart icon are kept on your device. You can remove them at any time.
• Visitor ID — a randomly generated ID that contains no personal data (1 year). It lets us store your basket on the server and keep visit and basket statistics that stay within the site and are shared with no one.
• Cookie choice — the choice you make in the cookie notice is kept so the notice is not shown on every visit.
• Admin session — a signed, HttpOnly session cookie created only when site administrators sign in to the panel. It is never created for visitors.

Member session

When you sign in as a member, a signed, HttpOnly cookie is created to keep you signed in (30 days).

Preference cookies (with consent)

Intended for personalisation features we may offer in the future; no cookies are currently set in this category.

Third-party content (with consent)

The Google Map on the contact page only loads when you allow the “Third-party content” category; Google may set its own cookies. Images, videos and fonts on the pages come from content delivery networks; these providers may technically process your IP address to serve the content, and we do not pass your personal data to them.

Statistics and marketing (with consent)

We may use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits and conversions. These tags only load when you allow the “Statistics and marketing” category; if you do not, no measurement code runs and no data is sent to the providers. Google and Meta set their own cookies and process the data under their own policies.

Record of your consent

Your cookie choice is stored only on your device, together with its date and the policy version. When the policy changes, you will be asked again. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie icon at the bottom left.

Managing your preferences

Tap the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the page to change your choice at any time. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; features such as the donation basket may then stop working because they cannot be stored on your device.

Your personal data

The name, e-mail, phone and donation note you share when donating are processed only to record your donation and deliver it to those in need, under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698. Details are in our Privacy Notice. For information requests, contact us at info@bursaipekyolu.org.
